Indication
Treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, discoid lupus, and prophylaxis/treatment of malaria.
Ingredients
- Hydroxychloroquine sulfate
Direction
Oral route. Adult: 200-400 mg daily as prescribed by physician. Take with food.
Side effects
- May cause nausea
- headache
- retinopathy with long
- term use
- skin reactions
- or QT prolongation. Seek medical advice if severe or persistent side effects occur.
Precautions
- Avoid in pregnancy (DANGER warning on box). Use with caution in patients with retinal/visual field changes
- hepatic or renal impairment
- or G6PD deficiency. Regular ophthalmologic monitoring recommended. Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use.
