Indication

Treatment of severe nodulocystic acne unresponsive to conventional therapy including systemic antibiotics.

Direction

Take orally with food, as directed by a doctor. Read the package leaflet carefully before use.

Side effects

• Common: dry skin
• lips and eyes
• cheilitis
• photosensitivity
• raised liver enzymes and lipids
• muscle and joint pain. Serious: severe birth defects
• mood changes
• intracranial hypertension. Stop use and consult a doctor or pharmacist if severe or unusual effects occur.

Precautions

• Prescription drug — do not use during pregnancy or in women who may become pregnant (teratogenic). Avoid donating blood during and for 1 month after treatment. Avoid concurrent use of vitamin A supplements and tetracyclines. Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use.
