Nikarin Oral Gel Miconazole nitrate 20 mg per 1 g of oral gel

Indication

Curative and prophylactic treatment of candidiasis of the buccopharyngeal cavity and the gastrointestinal tract (oral and esophageal thrush).

Ingredients

• Miconazole nitrate

Direction

Adults: apply 1/2 to 1 teaspoonful of gel in the mouth 4 times daily, after meals. Keep the gel in the mouth for as long as possible before swallowing. Use for at least 1 week after symptoms resolve.

Side effects

• May cause nausea
• vomiting
• diarrhoea
• or local mucosal irritation. Rare: allergic reactions
• hepatitis. Stop use and consult a doctor or pharmacist if severe or unusual effects occur.

Precautions

• For oral use. Use with caution in patients with liver impairment or those taking interacting medicines (e.g. warfarin
• oral hypoglycaemics). Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use during pregnancy
• breastfeeding
