Indication
Treatment of gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD), erosive oesophagitis, peptic ulcer disease (gastric and duodenal ulcers), Helicobacter pylori eradication (in combination with antibiotics), and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.
Ingredients
- Pantoprazole sodium sesquihydrate
Direction
Adults: usually 40 mg once daily in the morning before breakfast. Swallow tablets whole with water; do not chew or crush. Treatment duration as prescribed by a physician. Read the leaflet for detailed information.
Side effects
- May include headache
- diarrhoea
- nausea
- abdominal pain
- flatulence
- dizziness
- and skin rash. Long
- term use may be associated with vitamin B12 deficiency
- hypomagnesaemia
- and increased risk of bone fractures. Stop use and consult a doctor or pharmacist immediately if you experience severe skin reactions
- signs of liver problems
- or severe diarrhoea.
Precautions
- Prescription
- only medicine. Inform your doctor of any liver disease
- osteoporosis or risk factors for bone fracture
- low magnesium levels
- vitamin B12 deficiency
- or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Long
- term use should be reviewed periodically. Contains maltitol and lecithin from soya — caution in soya/peanut allergy. Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use if you have other medical conditions or are taking other medications.
