Indication
For the relief of mild to moderate pain including headache, dental pain, post-operative and postpartum pain, primary dysmenorrhoea, and menorrhagia. Also used for the relief of musculoskeletal and joint disorders including osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.
Ingredients
- Mefenamic acid
Direction
Adults and children over 14 years: 500 mg (1 tablet) three times a day, preferably with or after food. Maximum 1,500 mg per day. Do not exceed 7 days of continuous use without medical advice. Read the leaflet for detailed information.
Side effects
- May include gastrointestinal discomfort
- nausea
- vomiting
- diarrhoea
- dizziness
- drowsiness
- and skin rash. Serious adverse events such as gastrointestinal bleeding
- ulceration
- perforation
- and cardiovascular thrombotic events can occur. Stop use and consult a doctor or pharmacist immediately if you experience black/tarry stools
- severe stomach pain
- chest pain
- shortness of breath
- or signs of allergic reaction.

- and Cosmetics Act prohibits dispensing without prescription. Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to mefenamic acid
- aspirin or other NSAIDs
- history of asthma or allergic reactions to NSAIDs

- severe cardiac/hepatic/renal disease
- cerebrovascular bleeding
- or hyperkalaemia. Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
