Indication
- Respiratory tract infections - Pharyngitis and tonsillitis - Acute maxillary sinusitis - Community-acquired pneumonia - Skin and soft tissue infections - Helicobacter pylori eradication
Ingredients
- Clarithromycin
Direction
Take orally with or without food. Usually administered every 12 hours for 7 to 14 days as prescribed.
Side effects
- Diarrhea or loose stools
- Nausea and vomiting
- Abdominal pain or discomfort
- Metallic or altered taste
- Headache
- Dyspepsia
Precautions
- Hypersensitivity to macrolide antibiotics
- History of QT interval prolongation
- Severe hepatic or renal impairment
- Concurrent use with statins or colchicine
- Monitor for signs of pseudomembranous colitis
