Indication

Oral rehydration in the treatment and prevention of dehydration due to acute diarrhoea, vomiting, excessive sweating, or other causes of fluid and electrolyte loss in adults and children.

Ingredients
  • Sodium chloride
  • Potassium chloride
  • Sodium citrate
  • Anhydrous glucose
Direction

Dissolve the contents of one sachet in 200 mL (one glass) of freshly boiled and cooled drinking water. Stir well until completely dissolved. Adults and children over 12 years: drink as required after each loose stool, up to 1 to 2 litres a day. Infants and children: as directed by a doctor or pharmacist. Use the prepared solution within 24 hours.

Side effects
  • Generally well tolerated when used as directed. Consult a doctor or pharmacist if vomiting persists or any unusual reaction occurs.
Precautions
  • Do not exceed the recommended dose. Use only freshly boiled and cooled drinking water for reconstitution. Consult a doctor or pharmacist if diarrhoea or vomiting persists for more than 24 hours
  • if the patient is an infant under 1 year
  • or if there are signs of severe dehydration. Use with caution in patients with kidney impairment or on a sodium
