Olavex 5 Olanzapine Tablets 5 mg

Indication

Treatment of schizophrenia and other acute and chronic psychoses. Also used for moderate to severe manic episodes associated with bipolar I disorder, and for the prevention of recurrence of bipolar I disorder.

Direction

Adults: as directed by the prescribing physician. Typical starting dose 5 to 10 mg once daily, adjusted according to clinical response. Swallow tablets whole with water; may be taken with or without food.

Side effects

• May include weight gain
• drowsiness
• dizziness
• dry mouth
• constipation
• increased appetite
• and orthostatic hypotension. Stop use and consult a doctor or pharmacist immediately if you experience high fever with muscle stiffness
• severe confusion
• signs of high blood sugar (excessive thirst or urination)
• or uncontrolled movements (tardive dyskinesia).
