Diaxium 5 5 mg

Indication

Short-term symptomatic treatment of severe anxiety. Prevention and treatment of delirium tremens and other symptoms of alcohol withdrawal. Also used as adjunctive therapy for muscle spasm and certain types of seizures.

Ingredients

• Diazepam

Direction

Adults: as prescribed by a physician. Usual dose 2 to 10 mg, 2 to 4 times a day depending on indication and severity. Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest possible duration. Do not exceed 12 weeks of continuous use without medical reassessment.

Side effects

• May include drowsiness
• sedation
• muscle weakness
• dizziness
• confusion
• and ataxia. Tolerance and physical dependence can develop with prolonged use. Stop use and consult a doctor or pharmacist if you experience paradoxical reactions (agitation
• aggression)

• or signs of allergic reaction.

Precautions

• Prescription
• only medicine (Liste I). Strictly follow the prescribed doses. Risk of dependence and tolerance — duration of prescription limited (do not exceed 12 weeks including taper). Avoid abrupt discontinuation. Avoid alcohol. May impair the ability to drive or operate machinery. Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding without medical advice. Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use if you have other medical conditions or are taking other medications.
