PIMAG Antacid Suspension Premium Per 14 mL sachet: Aluminium hydroxide dried gel 600 mg, Magnesium hydroxide 600 mg, Simethicone 160 mg

Indication

Treatment of gastric and duodenal ulcer, gastritis, heartburn, and gastric hyperacidity. Fast relief of symptoms related to excess stomach acid (heartburn, indigestion, bloating). Sugar-free formulation.

Ingredients

• Aluminium hydroxide
• Magnesium hydroxide
• Simethicone

Direction

Adult: 1 sachet 3 to 4 times a day, shake before use. To be taken immediately after meals and at bedtime, and repeat 30 to 60 minutes later if necessary.

Side effects

• Generally well tolerated. May occasionally cause constipation
• diarrhoea
• nausea
• or vomiting — symptoms will disappear after stopping the medicine. Consult a doctor or pharmacist if any unusual reaction occurs.

Precautions

• Do not use in patients with serious kidney failure which may cause hypermagnesia. Not recommended for treatment more than 2 weeks unless recommended by physician
• which may cause dependence of gastric function. Antacids may disturb the absorption of tetracycline
• cimetidine
• and other drugs — apply at least 1 to 2 hours gap between taking antacids and other drugs. Not suitable for patients with low phosphorus diet and long term use
• since antacid lowers phosphorus level in blood. Not recommended for children under 6 years old.
