PIMAG Antacid Suspension Per sachet: Aluminium hydroxide, Magnesium hydroxide, Simethicone (standard PIMAG formulation)

Indication

Symptomatic relief of heartburn, acid indigestion, bloating, and gastric hyperacidity. Standard formulation of PIMAG Antacid Suspension (non-Premium variant). Helps to reduce symptoms related to gastric hyperacidity such as stomach upset, nausea, flatulence, and heartburn.

Ingredients

• Aluminium hydroxide
• Magnesium hydroxide
• Simethicone

Direction

Adult: 1 sachet 3 to 4 times a day, shake before use. To be taken immediately after meals and at bedtime, and repeat 30 to 60 minutes later if necessary.

Side effects

• Generally well tolerated. May occasionally cause constipation
• diarrhoea
• nausea
• or vomiting — symptoms will disappear after stopping the medicine. Consult a doctor or pharmacist if any unusual reaction occurs.

Precautions

• Do not use in patients with serious kidney failure which may cause hypermagnesia. Not recommended for treatment more than 2 weeks unless recommended by physician. Antacids may disturb the absorption of tetracycline
• cimetidine
• and other drugs — apply at least 1 to 2 hours gap between taking antacids and other drugs. Not recommended for children under 6 years old.
