Sertraline GPO 50 mg 50 mg

Indication

Treatment of major depressive disorder, panic disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), social anxiety disorder, and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) in adults. Also used for premenstrual dysphoric disorder.

Ingredients

• Sertraline hydrochloride

Direction

Adults: as prescribed by a physician. Usual starting dose 50 mg once daily, adjusted by the physician up to a maximum of 200 mg per day. Swallow film-coated tablets whole with water; may be taken with or without food, preferably at the same time each day.

Side effects

• May include nausea
• diarrhoea
• dry mouth
• headache
• dizziness
• fatigue
• insomnia
• decreased libido
• and increased sweating. Stop use and consult a doctor or pharmacist immediately if you experience severe skin reactions
• suicidal thoughts
• unusual bleeding
• or signs of serotonin syndrome (agitation
• fever
• rapid heartbeat).

Precautions

• Prescription
• only medicine. Inform your doctor of any liver or kidney disease
• history of seizures
• history of mania
• bleeding disorders
• or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Avoid abrupt discontinuation. Use with caution in combination with other serotonergic drugs (risk of serotonin syndrome). May impair the ability to drive or operate machinery. Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use if you have other medical conditions or are taking other medications.
