Indication

Symptomatic treatment of mild to moderately severe Alzheimer's dementia. Centrally acting reversible acetylcholinesterase inhibitor.

Ingredients

• Donepezil hydrochloride

Direction

Adults: as prescribed by a physician. Usual starting dose 5 mg once daily, taken in the evening before bedtime. After at least one month of treatment, the dose may be increased to 10 mg once daily based on clinical assessment. Swallow tablets whole with water.

Side effects

• May include diarrhoea
• muscle cramps
• fatigue
• nausea
• vomiting
• insomnia
• dizziness
• and loss of appetite. Stop use and consult a doctor or pharmacist immediately if you experience severe gastrointestinal symptoms
• fainting
• bradycardia
• or signs of allergic reaction.

Precautions

• Prescription
• only medicine. Use under medical supervision. Inform your doctor of any cardiac disease (especially sick sinus syndrome or other supraventricular cardiac conduction abnormalities)
• peptic ulcer disease
• asthma or obstructive pulmonary disease
• history of seizures
• or urinary obstruction. May cause bradycardia and syncope. Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use if you have other medical conditions or are taking other medications.
