Indication
- Congestive heart failure - Hypertension (high blood pressure) - Left ventricular dysfunction after myocardial infarction - Management of stable angina
Ingredients
- Carvedilol
Direction
Take orally with food to minimize the risk of low blood pressure upon standing. Usually taken twice daily as directed by a healthcare professional.
Side effects
- Dizziness or lightheadedness
- Fatigue and lethargy
- Weight gain
- Diarrhea
- Slow heart rate (bradycardia)
- Hypotension (low blood pressure)
Precautions
- Do not discontinue therapy abruptly
- Monitor blood glucose in diabetic patients
- Use with caution in asthma or COPD
- Risk of bradycardia (slow heart rate)
- May mask symptoms of hyperthyroidism
