Glucophage XR 750mg 750 mg

Indication

Treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus, particularly in overweight patients, when dietary management and exercise alone do not result in adequate glycaemic control.

Ingredients

• Metformin Hydrochloride 750 mg (equivalent to 585 mg metformin base)

Direction

Usually 1-2 tablets per day with the evening meal, swallowed whole without chewing. As directed by a physician. By prescription only.

Side effects

• Common: gastrointestinal disturbances (nausea
• diarrhoea
• abdominal pain
• loss of appetite)
• metallic taste. Rare but serious: lactic acidosis. Discontinue use and seek medical advice if any unusual reaction occurs.

Precautions

• By prescription only. Consult a doctor if you have kidney or liver impairment
• heart failure
• or before any contrast imaging procedure. Risk of lactic acidosis. Not recommended in pregnancy unless directed by a physician.
