Indication
- Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus - Glycemic control in adults - Blood sugar management with diet/exercise
Ingredients
- Sitagliptin and Metformin Hydrochloride
Direction
Take orally twice daily with meals to reduce gastrointestinal side effects. Swallow tablets whole; do not crush or chew.
Side effects
- Nausea and vomiting
- Diarrhea or flatulence
- Upper respiratory tract infection
- Headache
- Metallic taste in mouth
- Hypoglycemia when used with sulfonylureas
Precautions
- Contraindicated in severe renal impairment
- Risk of lactic acidosis
- Monitor for signs of pancreatitis
- Discontinue before certain radiologic procedures
- Avoid excessive alcohol consumption
- Monitor kidney function regularly
