Indication

Prevention of stroke and systemic embolism in adult patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation; treatment and prevention of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE).

Ingredients

• Rivaroxaban 20 mg

Direction

Usually 20 mg once daily with food, or as directed by a physician. By prescription only.

Side effects

• Major risk of bleeding (gums
• nose
• gastrointestinal
• urinary
• intracranial). Other: anaemia
• nausea
• dizziness
• headache. Seek immediate medical advice for any unusual bleeding or bruising.

Precautions

• By prescription only. Contraindicated in active clinically significant bleeding
• severe liver disease with coagulopathy
• pregnancy and breastfeeding. Consult a doctor if you have kidney impairment or are taking other anticoagulants/antiplatelets/NSAIDs.
