Indication
Antirheumatic, anti-inflammatory, and analgesic non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) indicated for the symptomatic treatment of inflammatory and degenerative rheumatic diseases (rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, osteoarthritis), painful post-traumatic and post-operative inflammation, and other painful conditions of inflammatory origin.
Ingredients
- Diclofenac sodium
Direction
Oral use. To be swallowed unchewed with water. As directed by the physician. The sustained-release formulation is usually taken once daily.
Side effects
- May cause gastrointestinal upset
- peptic ulceration / bleeding
- hypertension
- oedema
- headache
- dizziness
- or rarely serious skin reactions and cardiovascular thrombotic events. Seek immediate medical advice if you develop severe abdominal pain
- bloody/black stools
- chest pain
- or signs of severe allergic reaction. Always consult a doctor or pharmacist before use.
Precautions
- Contraindicated in patients with active peptic ulcer
- severe heart failure
- severe hepatic/renal impairment
