Indication
- Type 2 diabetes mellitus - Glycemic control adjunct to diet - Glycemic control adjunct to exercise
Ingredients
- Glibenclamide (Glyburide)
Direction
Take orally once daily with breakfast or the first main meal. Do not skip meals after administration to prevent low blood sugar.
Side effects
- Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar)
- Nausea or gastrointestinal upset
- Weight gain
- Visual disturbances (at treatment start)
- Skin rashes or itching
Precautions
- Risk of severe hypoglycemia
- History of sulfonamide allergy
- Avoid in type 1 diabetes
- Severe renal or hepatic impairment
- Use caution in elderly patients
