Indication
Adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycaemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus when treatment with both empagliflozin and metformin is appropriate.
Ingredients
- Empagliflozin 5 mg
- Metformin Hydrochloride 500 mg
Direction
As directed by the physician. Take with meals to reduce gastrointestinal side effects.
Side effects
- Genital mycotic infections
- Urinary tract infections
- Increased urination
- Hypoglycaemia (especially with insulin or sulfonylureas)
- Nausea
- diarrhoea
- or abdominal discomfort
- Lactic acidosis (rare but serious)
Precautions
- Use only under medical supervision. Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use
- especially if you have kidney disease
- liver disease
- heart failure
- dehydration
- recurrent urinary or genital infections
- or a history of diabetic ketoacidosis. Stop use and seek immediate medical help if you develop signs of ketoacidosis
- severe genital or urinary infection
- lactic acidosis
- or an allergic reaction.
