Empiget-M 5 mg / 500 mg

Indication

Adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycaemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus when treatment with both empagliflozin and metformin is appropriate.

Ingredients

• Empagliflozin 5 mg
• Metformin Hydrochloride 500 mg

Direction

As directed by the physician. Take with meals to reduce gastrointestinal side effects.

Side effects

• Genital mycotic infections
• Urinary tract infections
• Increased urination
• Hypoglycaemia (especially with insulin or sulfonylureas)
• Nausea
• diarrhoea
• or abdominal discomfort
• Lactic acidosis (rare but serious)

Precautions

• Use only under medical supervision. Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use
• especially if you have kidney disease
• liver disease
• heart failure
• dehydration
• recurrent urinary or genital infections
• or a history of diabetic ketoacidosis. Stop use and seek immediate medical help if you develop signs of ketoacidosis
• severe genital or urinary infection
• lactic acidosis
• or an allergic reaction.
