Indication
- High cholesterol (Hypercholesterolemia) - Prevention of cardiovascular disease - Reduction of LDL cholesterol - Treatment of hypertriglyceridemia
Ingredients
- Atorvastatin (as Atorvastatin Calcium)
Direction
Take orally once daily, with or without food. It is generally recommended to take at the same time each day.
Side effects
- Muscle or joint pain
- Headache
- Diarrhea or upset stomach
- Nasopharyngitis (common cold symptoms)
- Increased liver enzyme levels
Precautions
- Contraindicated during pregnancy and breastfeeding
- Avoid in patients with liver disease
- Risk of muscle damage (myopathy)
- Avoid excessive grapefruit juice consumption
- Monitor liver function tests regularly
