Indication
- Type 2 diabetes mellitus - Glycemic control improvement - Insulin resistance management
Ingredients
- Pioglitazone
Direction
Take orally once daily. Can be taken with or without food at the same time each day.
Side effects
- Weight gain
- Edema (swelling)
- Respiratory tract infection
- Headache
- Hypoglycemia (when used with insulin)
Precautions
- Congestive heart failure history
- Active bladder cancer
- Liver disease monitoring required
- Risk of fluid retention
- Increased risk of bone fractures
