Metformin Denk 850 mg

Indication

Treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus, particularly in overweight adult patients, as monotherapy or in combination with other oral antidiabetics or insulin when diet and exercise alone are insufficient.

Ingredients

• Metformin hydrochloride 850 mg

Direction

Use as directed by the physician. Take with or just after meals. Adult dose is usually titrated up to 850 mg two or three times daily.

Side effects

• May cause gastrointestinal symptoms (nausea
• vomiting
• diarrhoea
• abdominal pain
• loss of appetite)
• metallic taste
• vitamin B12 deficiency
• or rarely lactic acidosis
• consult a doctor or pharmacist if any reaction develops.

Precautions

• Ask a doctor or pharmacist before use if pregnant
• breastfeeding
• or with kidney/liver disease
• severe infection
• dehydration
• heart failure
• alcoholism
• or planning radiological exams with iodinated contrast. Stop use immediately and seek medical attention if symptoms of lactic acidosis occur (muscle cramps
