Cotrim P.P.M 200 mg / 40 mg per 5 ml

Indication

Treatment of infections caused by sensitive micro-organisms including genitourinary tract infections, respiratory tract infections, otitis, sinusitis, gastrointestinal tract infections, typhoid fever and Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia.

Ingredients

• Sulfamethoxazole
• Trimethoprim

Direction

Usual dose: sulfamethoxazole 15 mg/kg and trimethoprim 3 mg/kg, twice per day, or per age: 6 weeks-5 months 2.5 ml twice daily; 6 months-5 years 5 ml twice daily; 6-12 years 10 ml twice daily. Increase by 50% in severe infections.

Precautions

• Complete the full course of antibiotic treatment.
• Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use if allergic to sulfonamides
• during pregnancy or breastfeeding and stop if irritation or allergy develops.
