Indication
- Management of gout - Prevention of uric acid stones - Recurrent calcium oxalate stones - Chemotherapy-induced hyperuricemia - Management of primary/secondary hyperuricemia
Ingredients
- Allopurinol
Direction
Take orally once daily after a meal. Maintain high fluid intake to ensure adequate hydration.
Side effects
- Skin rash (pruritic or maculopapular)
- Gastrointestinal upset (nausea
- vomiting)
- Drowsiness
- Hepatotoxicity or liver enzyme changes
Precautions
- Discontinue immediately if rash develops
- Monitor renal and hepatic function
- Adjust dosage in renal impairment
- Potential for severe hypersensitivity syndrome
