Caltoux Dry Cough (Child) Dextromethorphan hydrobromide 5 mg per 5 mL

Indication

Symptomatic relief of dry cough in children.

Ingredients

• Dextromethorphan hydrobromide 5 mg/5 mL

Direction

Child under 2 years old: 1 mL/kg/day (or 1 mg/kg/day) divided into 3 to 4 doses. Child 2-6 years: 2.5 mL every 4 hours if needed, do not exceed 15 mL per day. Child 6-10 years: 5 mL every 4 hours if needed, do not exceed 20 mL per day. Child 10-12 years: 5 mL every 4 hours if needed, do not exceed 30 mL per day. Child 12-15 years: 10 mL every 4 hours if needed, do not exceed 40 mL per day.

Side effects

• Drowsiness or sedation
• Nausea or vomiting
• Dizziness
• Constipation

Precautions

• Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use
• especially for young children.
• Do not exceed the recommended dose.
• Stop use and seek medical advice if cough persists
