Indication
- Type 2 diabetes mellitus - Glycemic control in adults - Management of high blood sugar
Ingredients
- Glimepiride
Direction
Take orally once daily with breakfast or the first main meal of the day. The dosage must be adjusted by a physician based on blood glucose levels.
Side effects
- Low blood sugar (hypoglycemia)
- Dizziness and shakiness
- Nausea and gastrointestinal upset
- Headache
- Weight gain
- Temporary visual impairment
Precautions
- Risk of severe hypoglycemia
- Not for type 1 diabetes
- Avoid in diabetic ketoacidosis
- Caution with sulfonamide allergy
- Monitor kidney and liver function
- Avoid alcohol consumption
