Indication

- Management of primary and secondary gout - Prevention of uric acid kidney stones - Hyperuricemia associated with cancer chemotherapy - Treatment of recurrent calcium oxalate stones

Ingredients

• Allopurinol

Direction

Take orally once daily after a meal to minimize stomach irritation. Drink plenty of fluids (at least 2 liters daily) during treatment.

Side effects

• Skin rash or itching
• Nausea and gastrointestinal distress
• Initial increase in gout flare
• ups
• Drowsiness or dizziness
• Elevation of liver enzymes

Precautions

• Discontinue immediately at first sign of rash
• Monitor kidney and liver function regularly
• Use with caution in renal impairment
• Risk of severe hypersensitivity reactions
• Maintain high fluid intake daily
