Indication
- Severe rheumatoid arthritis - Psoriasis management - Neoplastic diseases (various cancers) - Polyarticular juvenile idiopathic arthritis - Ectopic pregnancy management
Ingredients
- Methotrexate
Direction
Take orally. For autoimmune conditions, it is typically taken as a single weekly dose; do not take daily unless treating cancer.
Side effects
- Nausea and vomiting
- Oral ulcers or stomatitis
- Increased liver enzymes
- Fatigue and headache
- Hair thinning (alopecia)
Precautions
- Contraindicated in pregnancy and breastfeeding
- Avoid alcohol during treatment
- Monitor liver and kidney function
- Risk of bone marrow suppression
- Monitor complete blood counts regularly
