Indication
- Congestive heart failure - Edema (fluid retention) - Hepatic cirrhosis with ascites - Resistant hypertension - Nephrotic syndrome
Ingredients
- Spironolactone and Furosemide
Direction
Take one tablet orally once daily, preferably in the morning to prevent sleep interruption. Take with or without food as directed by your physician.
Side effects
- Frequent urination
- Electrolyte imbalance (low sodium/high potassium)
- Dizziness or lightheadedness
- Gynecomastia (breast enlargement in men)
- Dehydration and dry mouth
Precautions
- Monitor serum potassium and sodium levels
- Contraindicated in severe kidney failure
- Avoid use with potassium supplements
- Potential for sulfonamide cross
- sensitivity
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding consultation required
