Indication
- Blastomycosis - Coccidioidomycosis - Histoplasmosis - Chromomycosis - Recalcitrant cutaneous fungal infections - Paracoccidioidomycosis
Ingredients
- Ketoconazole
Direction
Take orally once daily with a meal to improve absorption. Do not take with antacids or acid-blockers.
Side effects
- Nausea and vomiting
- Abdominal pain
- Pruritus (itching)
- Headache
- Dizziness
- Gynecomastia in males
Precautions
- Risk of severe hepatotoxicity
- Monitor liver function tests regularly
- Potential for serious drug interactions
- Risk of adrenal insufficiency
- Contraindicated in active liver disease
- Avoid alcohol consumption during treatment
