Ephagyl 500 mg

Indication

Treatment of infections caused by susceptible anaerobic bacteria and protozoa, including urogenital trichomoniasis, non-specific vaginitis, intestinal amoebiasis, amoebic liver abscess, and anaerobic medico-surgical infections.

Ingredients

• Metronidazole 500 mg

Direction

Urogenital trichomoniasis: 2 g as a single daily dose for 10 days. Intestinal amoebiasis: adults 500 mg three times a day for 7 days; children 30-40 mg/kg/day in 3 doses. Non-specific vaginitis: 500 mg twice a day for 7 days. Or as directed by a physician.

Precautions

• Prescription only medicine. Avoid alcohol during treatment and for 48 hours after. Inform your doctor of any allergy or other conditions before use.
