Indication

- Stroke prevention in atrial fibrillation - Treatment of deep vein thrombosis - Prevention of pulmonary embolism - Prophylaxis following hip or knee surgery - Reduction of major cardiovascular events

Ingredients

• Rivaroxaban

Direction

Take orally as directed by a physician, usually once or twice daily. Doses of 15mg or 20mg must be taken with food to ensure proper absorption.

Side effects

• Increased bruising
• Nosebleeds (epistaxis)
• Bleeding gums
• Anemia
• Dizziness or headache

Precautions

• Significant risk of serious bleeding
• Contraindicated with active pathological bleeding
• Caution in patients with renal impairment
• Not for use with prosthetic heart valves
• Risk of spinal/epidural hematoma during anesthesia
