Indication
- Stroke prevention in atrial fibrillation - Treatment of deep vein thrombosis - Prevention of pulmonary embolism - Prophylaxis following hip or knee surgery - Reduction of major cardiovascular events
Ingredients
- Rivaroxaban
Direction
Take orally as directed by a physician, usually once or twice daily. Doses of 15mg or 20mg must be taken with food to ensure proper absorption.
Side effects
- Increased bruising
- Nosebleeds (epistaxis)
- Bleeding gums
- Anemia
- Dizziness or headache
Precautions
- Significant risk of serious bleeding
- Contraindicated with active pathological bleeding
- Caution in patients with renal impairment
- Not for use with prosthetic heart valves
- Risk of spinal/epidural hematoma during anesthesia
