Creacil 500 mg

Indication

Creacil is a broad-spectrum penicillin antibiotic (amoxicillin) used to treat bacterial infections that respond to penicillin, including respiratory tract infections, ear, nose and throat infections, urinary tract infections, and skin and soft-tissue infections. It is not effective against viral infections.

Ingredients

• Amoxicillin (as amoxicillin trihydrate) 500 mg per capsule

Direction

Oral route. Take as directed by a physician, preferably at the start of a meal or snack to reduce stomach upset. The usual adult dose is 250 to 500 mg every 8 hours, or 500 to 875 mg every 12 hours, with doses spaced evenly through the day. Complete the full prescribed course even if symptoms improve. Side effects

• Nausea
• vomiting or diarrhoea may occur.
• Skin rash or itching.
• Rarely
• severe diarrhoea or serious skin reactions (e.g. Stevens
• Johnson syndrome
• DRESS).
• Stop the medicine and seek medical attention immediately if signs of an allergic reaction occur
• such as hives
• swelling of the face
• lips
• mouth or throat
• or difficulty breathing or swallowing.

Precautions

• Do not use in patients allergic to amoxicillin or any other penicillin antibiotic (e.g. ampicillin
• penicillin)
• serious
• occasionally fatal
• allergic reactions can occur.
• Use with caution in patients with kidney impairment or a history of allergy/asthma.
• Complete the full prescribed course even if symptoms improve
• to prevent the infection returning.
• Tell your doctor about all other medicines being taken.
• Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use
• and stop use if irritation or an allergic reaction occurs.
