Indication
Treatment of bacterial infections caused by cefixime-susceptible organisms, including upper and lower respiratory tract infections, otitis media, urinary tract infections, and uncomplicated gonorrhoea.
Ingredients
- Cefixime 100 mg (as cefixime trihydrate)
Direction
Dissolve one sachet in water and take as directed by a physician. Usual adult dose is 200-400 mg daily. Complete the full prescribed course.
Side effects
- Diarrhoea
- nausea
- abdominal pain
- Headache and dizziness
- Skin rash or allergic reaction
- Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use and stop if irritation or allergy occurs
Precautions
- Do not use if allergic to cephalosporins or penicillins
- Use with caution in patients with kidney impairment
- Inform your doctor of any history of gastrointestinal disease
