Indication

Fluconazole is a triazole antifungal medicine used to treat and prevent fungal and yeast infections such as candidiasis (including vaginal, oral and oesophageal thrush), cryptococcal infections, and other systemic fungal infections.

Ingredients

• Fluconazole 200 mg

Direction

As directed by the physician. Dose depends on the type of infection; for vaginal candidiasis a single 150 mg dose is common, or as prescribed.

Side effects

• Nausea
• abdominal pain or diarrhoea
• Headache or dizziness
• Skin rash
• rarely serious skin reactions
• Liver enzyme changes with prolonged use

• stop if irritation or allergy occurs

Precautions

• Tell your doctor if you have liver or kidney problems or an irregular heartbeat
• Inform your doctor about other medicines
• as fluconazole interacts with many drugs
• Avoid use in pregnancy unless prescribed by a doctor
