Toraass A 5 mg / 50 mg

Indication

Toraass A is a fixed-dose combination of amlodipine (a calcium channel blocker) and losartan potassium (an angiotensin II receptor blocker) indicated for the treatment of mild to moderate hypertension (high blood pressure) in patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled on either component alone.

Ingredients

• Amlodipine 5 mg (as amlodipine besilate)
• Losartan potassium 50 mg

Direction

Take one tablet once daily, or as directed by the physician. Swallow whole with water. May be taken with or without food.

Side effects

• Swelling of the ankles or feet (peripheral oedema)
• Dizziness or lightheadedness
• Headache
• Flushing
• Fatigue
• Cough
• Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use
• stop if irritation or allergy occurs

Precautions

• Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding
• ARBs can harm the unborn baby
• Use with caution in patients with kidney or liver impairment
• May cause low blood pressure
• especially after the first dose or in dehydrated patients
• Monitor blood potassium levels
• avoid potassium supplements unless advised
