Treviamet 50 mg / 500 mg

Indication

Used together with diet and exercise to improve blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus when treatment with both sitagliptin and metformin is appropriate.

Ingredients

• Sitagliptin 50 mg
• Metformin hydrochloride 500 mg

Direction

Take one tablet by mouth twice daily with meals, or as directed by a physician. Swallow whole with water. Do not crush or chew.

Side effects

• Low blood sugar (hypoglycaemia)
• especially when combined with other diabetes medicines
• Nausea
• vomiting or stomach upset
• Diarrhoea
• Headache
• Upper respiratory tract infection

Precautions

• Tell your doctor if you have kidney or liver problems before use
• Rarely may cause lactic acidosis
• a serious metabolic condition
• seek urgent care for unusual muscle pain
• trouble breathing or extreme weakness
• Avoid excessive alcohol while taking this medicine
• Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use
• stop if irritation or allergy occurs
