Indication
Treatment of type 2 (non-insulin-dependent) diabetes mellitus in adults when diet, exercise and weight loss alone do not adequately control blood glucose.
Ingredients
- Gliclazide 30 mg
Direction
Swallow the tablet whole or split into two equal halves; do not chew or crush. Usually taken once daily at breakfast. Follow the dosage instructions of your doctor.
Side effects
- Hypoglycaemia (low blood sugar): sweating
- trembling
- hunger
- weakness
- dizziness
- confusion
- Gastrointestinal upset: nausea
- vomiting
- abdominal pain
- Skin reactions such as rash or itching
- Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use
- stop if irritation or allergy occurs
Precautions
- Take regular meals
- skipping meals increases the risk of low blood sugar
- Use with caution in elderly patients and those with kidney or liver impairment
- Avoid in severe kidney or liver disease
- Limit alcohol
- which can increase the risk of hypoglycaemia
