Lopid 300 mg

Indication

Lipid-regulating agent used to lower elevated blood triglycerides and cholesterol and to reduce the risk of coronary heart disease in patients with dyslipidaemia.

Ingredients

• Gemfibrozil 300 mg

Direction

For oral use. Usual dose is 2 capsules twice daily, taken 30 minutes before the morning and evening meals, or as directed by the physician. Refer to package insert for details.

Side effects

• Digestive problems: indigestion
• nausea
• vomiting
• abdominal pain
• diarrhoea
• Headache and dizziness
• Increased risk of gallstones
• Muscle pain or weakness (tell your doctor promptly
• especially if combined with a statin)
• Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use
• stop if irritation or allergy occurs

• Do not use in severe kidney or liver impairment or in pre
• existing gallbladder disease
• Use with caution and watch for muscle problems when combined with statins
• May enhance the effect of blood
• thinning medicines (warfarin) — dose adjustment may be needed
• Tell your doctor if pregnant
