Indication
Bromhexine is a mucolytic used to decrease sputum thickness and to treat cough associated with thick mucus and chesty (productive) coughs. It helps thin, loosen and clear mucus from the chest and relieve stubborn chest congestion.
Ingredients
- Bromhexine HCl 1.6 mg/mL
Direction
Use only with the syringe measurement provided. Children 1-5 years: 1.25 mL three times a day. Children 6-12 years: 2.5 mL three times a day. Over 12 years and adults: 5-10 mL three times a day. Do not exceed the maximum daily dose of 0.75 mg/kg/day without consulting your doctor, or use as directed.
Side effects
- Gastrointestinal disturbance such as nausea or stomach upset
- Rarely
- allergic skin reactions

- stop if irritation or allergy occurs
Precautions
- Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking if you have bronchial asthma or mechanical narrowing of the bronchial lumen
- Use with caution if you have a history of gastric or duodenal ulcer
