Duphalac 667 mg / mL

Indication

Treatment of constipation and regulation of the colonic physiological rhythm. Also used where soft stool is of medical benefit (haemorrhoids, post colonic/anal surgery) and for the treatment and prevention of hepatic encephalopathy (hepatic coma or precoma).

Ingredients

• Lactulose (667 mg per mL)

Direction

For constipation, adults and adolescents: starting dose 15-45 mL daily, maintenance 15-30 mL daily. Children (7-14 years): 15 mL starting, 10-15 mL maintenance. Children (1-6 years): 5-10 mL. Infants under 1 year: up to 5 mL. Follow the advice of a doctor.

Side effects

• Flatulence
• Abdominal pain
• Bloating
• Diarrhoea with high doses
• Nausea

Precautions

• Use with caution in patients with diabetes mellitus and lactose intolerance
• Do not use in case of galactosaemia or intestinal obstruction
• Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use
• stop if irritation or allergy occurs
