Indication

For the prevention and treatment of dehydration and electrolyte loss caused by acute diarrhoea, vomiting and other conditions of fluid loss.

Ingredients

• Sodium chloride 2.60 g
• Potassium chloride 1.50 g
• Sodium citrate 2.90 g
• Anhydrous glucose 13.50 g

Direction

Dissolve the entire contents of one sachet in the indicated amount of clean drinking water (do not add to milk, soup or other fluids and do not add sugar). Stir well and drink. Use freshly prepared solution within 24 hours. Use as needed to replace fluid losses.

Side effects

• Generally well tolerated when prepared and used correctly
• Vomiting may occur if the solution is drunk too quickly
• Excessive use or incorrect preparation may cause electrolyte imbalance (e.g. high sodium)
• Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use

Precautions

• Prepare strictly according to instructions
• do not exceed the recommended dilution
• Seek medical advice for severe or persistent diarrhoea
• signs of severe dehydration
