Indication

Treatment of major depressive episodes, and used for chronic neuropathic pain and prophylaxis of chronic tension-type headache and migraine in adults.

Ingredients

• Amitriptyline 25 mg

Direction

Take by mouth exactly as prescribed by your doctor. The dose is individualised and usually increased gradually; do not exceed the prescribed dose.

Side effects

• Drowsiness and sedation
• Dry mouth
• constipation and blurred vision
• Dizziness
• especially on standing up
• Weight gain
• Rapid or irregular heartbeat

Precautions

• Prescription medicine
• use only under medical supervision
• Do not use during the last months of pregnancy except where no alternative exists
• May impair ability to drive or operate machinery
• Use with caution in heart disease
• glaucoma and urinary retention
• Avoid alcohol
• do not stop treatment abruptly
• Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use
• stop if irritation or allergy occurs
