Indication
Nexium is used to treat gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD), to heal and prevent erosive reflux oesophagitis, to treat and prevent stomach and duodenal ulcers (including those associated with NSAID use), and in combination with antibiotics to eradicate Helicobacter pylori. It is also used for Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.
Ingredients
- Esomeprazole magnesium trihydrate corresponding to esomeprazole 40 mg
Direction
The tablets should be swallowed whole with water. They may be dispersed in non-carbonated water. Do not chew or crush the pellets in the tablets. Take as directed by the physician, usually once daily.
Side effects
- Headache
- Diarrhoea
- Nausea
- Abdominal pain
- Flatulence
- Constipation
Precautions
- Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use if you have liver problems
- are pregnant or breastfeeding
- or take other medicines.
- Long
- term use may affect magnesium and vitamin B12 levels and increase fracture risk.
- Stop use and seek medical advice if irritation or allergy occurs.
