Ciral 0.3% (3 mg/mL)

Indication

Ciral is a sterile ciprofloxacin ophthalmic solution, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections of the eye (and ear) such as conjunctivitis and corneal ulcers caused by susceptible organisms.

Ingredients

• Ciprofloxacin hydrochloride USP equivalent to ciprofloxacin 0.3% w/v
• Benzalkonium chloride 0.02% w/v (preservative)

Direction

Use as directed by the physician. See package insert for complete prescribing information. Use the solution within one month after opening the vial.

Side effects

• Local eye irritation
• burning or stinging on instillation
• Temporary blurred vision
• White crystalline precipitate in some patients with corneal ulcers
