Metro-MS 500 mg

Indication

For the treatment of amoebiasis (intestinal, asymptomatic and hepatic), trichomoniasis, giardiasis and certain anaerobic bacterial infections.

Ingredients

• Metronidazole 500 mg

Direction

Intestinal amoebiasis: adults 2 g once daily; children 30 mg/kg/day. Asymptomatic amoebiasis: same daily dose for 3 days. Hepatic amoebiasis: adults 1.5 g daily in one or several doses for 5 days. Take with meals or as directed by a doctor.

Side effects

• Nausea and metallic taste
• Loss of appetite
• Headache
• Dark
• coloured urine
• Avoid alcohol during and after treatment (disulfiram
• like reaction)

Precautions

• Avoid alcohol during treatment and for at least 48 hours after
• Use with caution in pregnancy and liver disease
• Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use
• stop if irritation or allergy occurs
