Indication
- Labor induction - Labor augmentation - Postpartum hemorrhage control - Management of incomplete abortion
Ingredients
- Oxytocin
Direction
Administer via intravenous infusion or intramuscular injection under strict medical supervision. Dosage must be titrated based on uterine response and fetal tolerance.
Side effects
- Uterine hyperstimulation
- Fetal distress/bradycardia
- Nausea and vomiting
- Maternal cardiac arrhythmias
- Postpartum hematoma
Precautions
- Continuous fetal heart rate monitoring
- Monitor uterine contraction frequency
- Contraindicated in cephalopelvic disproportion
- Risk of uterine rupture
- Monitor for water intoxication
