Indication
Treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults, when dietary management and exercise alone do not result in adequate glycemic control. May be used as monotherapy or in combination with other oral antidiabetic agents or with insulin.
Ingredients
- Metformin HCl 500 mg
Direction
The usual dose is 500 mg three times daily, taken with food or after meals, maximum 3 g daily in divided doses.
Side effects
- May cause nausea
- diarrhea
- or abdominal discomfort. Consult a doctor or pharmacist if symptoms persist.
