Indication
- Urinary tract infections - Respiratory tract infections - Bronchitis - Pneumocystis jirovecii pneumonia - Middle ear infections (otitis media) - Shigellosis (intestinal infections)
Ingredients
- Sulfamethoxazole and Trimethoprim (Co
- trimoxazole)
Direction
Take orally with a full glass of water. Usually one tablet every 12 hours as directed by a physician.
Side effects
- Nausea and vomiting
- Diarrhea
- Skin rash or itching
- Photosensitivity (sun sensitivity)
- Loss of appetite
Precautions
- Allergic to sulfonamides (sulfa drugs)
- Severe kidney or liver disease
- Risk of Stevens
- Johnson Syndrome
- Maintain adequate fluid intake
- History of folic acid deficiency
